Abstract From the Canadian patent

The present invention provides a high, temperature PTC device comprising a conductive polymeric composition that exhibits a switching temperature that falls between 150°C and 190°C a PTC, effect of at least 10 3 and a low initial resistivity at 25°C of 10 .OMEGA.cm or less. The conductive polymeric composition comprises a semicrystalline polymer component selected from nylon-12 or nylon-11 and a, particulate conductive filler. The composition may include, in addition to the nylon-12 or nylon-11 a, second semicrystalline component that preferably is a polyolefin-based or polyester-based thermoplastic elastomer. Crosslinking of the composition enhances thermal and electrical stability.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed September 23, 1997. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended September 23, 2017.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by September 23, 2019.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
