Abstract From the Canadian patent

There are described heat-developable photosensitive image-recording elements which have an alkali-generating system incorporated therein. In the alkaligenerating system, a slightly water-soluble metal compound is reacted with a salt of 2-hydroxy-pyridine-N-oxide, or its derivatives in the presence of a , fluid such as water to form an insoluble precipitate and the alkali required for silver image development during processing. The image-recording materials are useful as image-forming materials in thermographic and photothermographic processes.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed January 31, 1997. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended January 31, 2017.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by January 31, 2019.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
