The present invention relates to novel 10-deacetyl- 14.beta.-hydroxybaccatine III derivatives in accordance with formula 1. The novel derivatives, having cytotoxic and antitumour activity, are prepared from this synton after functionalization of the hydroxyls at 1- 14- as, thiocarbonate, iminocarbonate and sulfite and possible oxidation of the hydroxyl at C10. These derivatives are subjected to a subsequent esterification at position 13with a variously substituted isoserine chain. The products of the invention can be administered by the injective or oral route, when suitably formulated. (See formula I)

Why it's free to use
- Filed May 8, 1996 and granted August 13, 2002. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended May 8, 2016.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 8, 2018.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
