In an advertising module that can be hooked onto a parking meter ease of installation, without having to remove the parking meter head is important. What is even more important is the ease with which the advertising panels can be changed. The part of the module that holds the advertising panels must also be waterproof and it must comprise at least two faces and preferably three faces, for inserting the said panels. These faces must be angled so that the advertising is seen by both pedestrians and motorists. The fastening mechanisms must be simple and they must be readily operable by an installer working alone.

Why it's free to use
- Filed August 29, 1997. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended August 29, 2017.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by August 29, 2019.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
