Abstract From the Canadian patent

In the field of undergorund piping, pipes are generally thought of as being circular. In this invention the pipe is not circular in shape: while the bottom half is indeed semicircular in shape the top half is in the shape of a pointed arch or ogive (see description and drawings). This shape makes it possible to reduce the cylindrical deformation or ovalizing effect caused by pressure exerted by the ground or by vertically-applied pressure.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed August 26, 1997. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended August 26, 2017.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by August 26, 2019.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
