Abstract From the Canadian patent

Disclosed is a 7-(N-substituted amino)-3-oxo-2phenylheptanoate derivative, 7-(N-substituted amino)-3hydroxy-2-phenylheptanoate derivative, and 7-(Nsubstituted amino)-3-benzenesulfonyloxy-2phenylheptanoate derivative, which are quite important major intermediates for an antidepressant. The 7-(Nsubstituted amino)-3-oxo-2-phenylheptanoate derivative can be manufactured by condensing an enolate of phenylacetates with a 5-(N-substituted amino)pentanoate derivative.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed July 29, 1997. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended July 29, 2017.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by July 29, 2019.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
