Abstract From the Canadian patent

An ice skate assembly with a provision for the replacement of blades. As in other known assemblies the new ice skate, assembly comprises a carrier with a groove therealong within which a blade is received. However, in the novel assembly of the present invention, the blade is locked to the carrier by two or more threaded fastener means passing transversely through the blade at spaced intervals, an arrangement which advantageously permits rapid replacement of the blade using very simple tools. Alternatively, locking of the blade to the carrier is effected by two or more threaded fastener means passing upwardly through the carrier.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed July 11, 1997. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended July 11, 2017.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by July 11, 2019.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
