Abstract From the Canadian patent

A casting shake-out unit (1) has an outer cylinder (3) and an inner cylinder (5). The inner cylinder is made of a plurality of interfitting segments (9) which interlock and cooperate with each other to prevent a segment (9) from falling out of the completed inner cylinder (5). Each segment includes tongues (35) extending from opposing edges of the segment's body (11) and pockets (45) formed in the body. The pockets (45) of one segment (9A) receive at least a part of the tongue (35) of a neighboring segment (9B 9C).

Why it's free to use

  • Filed December 14, 1995 and granted February 26, 2002. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended December 14, 2015.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by December 14, 2017.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
