Abstract From the Canadian patent

A modulator system for generating a plurality of individual modulated RF signals (Subband 1-Subband 7) and combining (13) them and transmitting them in different frequency channels. The invention provides a practical method and apparatus for generating and combining a multiplicity of CDMA signals in several radio channels using digital circuit. Further several such band , segments can be generated in parallel and combined to cover a large bandwidth. The invention generates this multiplicity of signals and combines them at baseband using all digital techniques. The advantage of this approach is great simplification in hardware and improvement in reliability as well as , flexibility.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed December 19, 1995 and granted February 20, 2001. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended December 19, 2015.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by December 19, 2017.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
