A photoreceptor for electrophotography comprises a photosensitive layer containing an effective amount of oxytitanium phthalocyanine crystal having strong peaks at 9.6°, 24.2° and 27.3° and weak and broad peaks at approximately 11.6 °, 13.5° , 14.3° and 18.1° in Bragg angle 2.theta. ~0.2° by cuK.alpha. characteristic X-ray diffraction and an exothermic peak at 266°C in differential scanning calorimetry. The oxytitanium, phthalocyanine crystal has a small grain size and a high stability and thephotoreceptor has a high photosensitivity to light having a long wavelength.

Why it's free to use
- Filed May 28, 1997 and granted July 3, 2001. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended May 28, 2017.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 28, 2019.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
