Abstract From the Canadian patent

A high pressure cylindrical device with sonic transducers located at both ends of the device has been developed to accurately define the phase transition phenomena of matter contained within the cylindrical device. A sonic pulse in the audible range displays specific features of various types of phase transition while passing through the cylindrical container containing samples of matter undergoing phase change phenomena. The apparatus and technology described herein has been developed for chemical petroleum and reservoir, engineering phase behaviour applications and has been analyzed and evaluated on the basis of bubblepoint, dewpoint, asphaltene precipitation wax formation and hydrate …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed May 9, 1997. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended May 9, 2017.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 9, 2019.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
