Abstract From the Canadian patent

This is an invention related to the production of composite pyrotechnic materials through continuous processing. In a mixer (1) a thermosetting liquid binder (3) is mixed with a thickener (4) to obtain a viscous premix (2) which is non-reactive at ambient temperature and can then be mixed with oxidizers (17) to yield after extrusion and cutting, intermediate products (24) which are not yet set but do possess stable geometric sides. The structure of the intermediate products (24) is later hardened through setting of the binder in an oven (26). Why it's free to use

  • Filed May 8, 1997 and granted January 8, 2002. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended May 8, 2017.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 8, 2019.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
