Abstract From the Canadian patent

A dynamically controlled routing (DCR) telecommunications network (31A) comprises a plurality of network switching elements (a b, c, o, t) , interconnected by circuit groups (a-b o-a, o-b, o-c, ...) for carrying calls and a network processor (25A) communicating with the network elements. At least one of the nodes is a virtual destination node (V) which is a logical entity corresponding to a group of two or more components which are network elements. Why it's free to use

  • Filed October 26, 1995 and granted August 28, 2001. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended October 26, 2015.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 26, 2017.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
