When working in their gardens during the Spring / Summer growing seasons many, people would prefer to be wearing open toed sandals or similar footwear. The obvious disadvantage is that socks or the exposed skin of the feet can become soiled and even possibly adversely affected by chemicals such as fertilizers, used in, the soil. This is especially true when the soil is damp or wet as after rain or manual / mechanical watering. A pair of ankle height durable, latex rubber foot coverings, resembling several types of knit or woven slippers currently available on the market worn over the socks or bare, feet, would protect the gardener against these undesirable or unwanted skin contacts.

Why it's free to use
- Filed April 8, 1997. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended April 8, 2017.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by April 8, 2019.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
