Abstract From the Canadian patent

The monitor for uncommanded braking controls uncommanded brake application on one or more wheels during takeoff of an aircraft. Brake pedal application is determined, brake pressure is measured and brake, pressure is compared with a selected threshold brake pressure. A brake pressure applied signal is generated when the brake pressure exceeds the threshold brake pressure. The pedal application signal and brake pressure applied signal are received by a fault latch logic circuit that generates a fault latch output signal when uncommanded braking has occurred. A test inhibit signal is also generated when weight is not applied on the wheel. The test inhibit signal is also input to the fault …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed March 11, 1997 and granted May 27, 2003. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended March 11, 2017.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 11, 2019.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
