A tee nut comprises a shaft part, a flange part outwardly extending from an end of the shaft part and a, cap part outwardly extending on another end of the shaft part while blocking this end, which consist of an integral material. The shaft part is in the form of a hollow cylinder, and provided with a female screw on its inner peripheral surface, while the cap part has a non-circular shape. The tee nut having this structure can be manufactured from a metal plate in excellent mass productivity through a series of steps including plastic working, and is prevented from displacement in a state embedded in and fixed to a member consisting of resin or rubber.

Why it's free to use
- Filed March 5, 1997 and granted May 23, 2000. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended March 5, 2017.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 5, 2019.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
