Abstract From the Canadian patent

An advertising poster made of a foam block having top, sides and bottom surfaces standing off the ground such that the top surface will support a person and carrying an advertising message which would otherwise be discarded littering the outdoors except for the user being inclined to retain the poster for the advantages it has as a personal use article.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed February 12, 1997. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended February 12, 2017.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by February 12, 2019.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
