Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention includes a rigid frame consisting of at least two vertical structures which accommodate stops. The stops bear platforms with cars. Stops and platforms divide structures into levels vertically. Each structure has moving frames which have stops dividing them into levels. The moving frames can move up and down parallel to the structures. On the top and on the bottom of rigid frame there are carriages which can accommodate platforms and can move horizontally between the structures. Described mechanism creates circulation of platforms inside of the rigid frame delivering needed platform to desirable level of rigid frame where selected car can be parked or unparked.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed December 30, 1996 and granted November 27, 2001. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended December 30, 2016.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by December 30, 2018.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
