A distal end (18) of the electrode (14) has a geometry that delivers a controlled amount of energy to the tissue for a desired contraction of the collagen fibers. This is achieved while dissociation and breakdown of the collagen fibers is minimized. The handpiece (12) with electrode (14), is adapted to be, introduced through an operating cannula in percutaneous applications. Why it's free to use
- Filed May 5, 1995 and granted January 19, 1999. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended May 5, 2015.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 5, 2017.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
