Abstract From the Canadian patent

A tree mixer includes a first differential pair of transistors which divide current from a first current source between the transistors in dependence upon a first differential input signal supplied to first input terminals. Two second differential pairs of transistors have controlled paths which conduct current divided between the transistors of the differential pair in dependence upon a second differential input signal supplied to second input terminals, dependent upon current passed by a respective transistor of the first pair of transistors, to produce a product signal at output terminals. One or more second current sources provide for the total current passed by the first pair of …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed June 19, 1996 and granted November 28, 2000. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended June 19, 2016.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by June 19, 2018.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
