A solid-state detector for use in an atomic spectrometer comprises a plurality of arrays of sensing elements, or pixels, each of the arrays being positioned along and on the locations of spectral signals on a focal plane of an echelle grating spectrometer. The sensing elements are positioned along the many diffraction orders presented on a twodimensional echelle grating focal plane so that at least one element is located at each and every resolution element regardless of global x-y coordinate positioning of the elements or with reference to each other. The result is a series of skewed lines of sensing elements those lines being in the same shape as the series of diffraction order lines …

Why it's free to use
- Filed June 5, 1996 and granted May 1, 2001. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended June 5, 2016.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by June 5, 2018.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
