Polymer compositions having enhanced biodegradability are disclosed. The compositions comprise a blend of: (1) a polymer containing hydrolyzable bonds; and (2) a substantially water-insoluble pH-modifying compound capable of accelerating the hydrolysis of the hydrolyzable bonds in the polymer. The invention also relates to polymer films comprising such compositions and absorbent articles containing such polymer compositions or films. Why it's free to use
- Filed December 13, 1994 and granted June 27, 2000. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended December 13, 2014.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by December 13, 2016.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
