A basket style carton is set up by a machine which imparts inward movement to one end wall (3) so as to allow the adjacent locking tab (T1) to clear the associated end notch (V1). A first pusher (30) engages the bottom wall (12) and allows the notch (V1) to receive the locking tab (T1). Continued inward movement imparted to the one carton end wall (3) causes the locking tab at the opposite end of the bottom wall (12) to clear the associated notch (V1). A second pusher (32) then depresses the bottom wall (12) and allows the associated locking tab (T2) to clear the associated notch (V2).

Why it's free to use
- Filed November 14, 1994 and granted February 1, 2000. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended November 14, 2014.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 14, 2016.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
