A fluid dispenser system and method of use primarily for industrial applications in the dispensing of fluids such as epoxies silicones, adhesives, etc. The system comprises a hand-held ergonomic applicator (4) accommodating a conventional medical syringe (8). The applicator is attached by a power cord (3) to an electronic control unit (2). The applicator is provided with a stepper motor (5) that drives a drive rod (6) in precise increments in response to an electronic signal generated by the control unit. Displacement of the drive rod into a piston in the syringe creates a positive pressure on a fluid contained in the syringe (8) thereby causing fluid extrusion from the syringe.

Why it's free to use
- Filed December 16, 1994 and granted April 29, 1997. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended December 16, 2014.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by December 16, 2016.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
