A box (32) for containing foods during mailing or shipment. The box has at least one end panel (24) secured to a body panel by a locking tab and slot assembly (38, 31) so that the end panel cannot be unsecured without providing visible evidence of tampering. The leading edge of the locking tab (38) has at least a partially tapered profile when the tab is folded for insertion through the slot (31). The slot may be curved to provide additional abutment between the associated locking tab and slot assembly. The container may have decorative motifs printed on the exterior surface to resemble a gift-wrapped box.

Why it's free to use
- Filed October 1, 1993 and granted December 22, 1998. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended October 1, 2013.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 1, 2015.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
