Fabrication of a handle for lifting and carrying a bag made of paper or other material. The invention concerns direct folding and cutting of the piece forming the bag without the need for an additional discrete piece. The technique comprises rolling the edge of the sheet used for the bag; cutting the roll on its sides perpendicular gluing on the longitudinal part of the bag; cutting under the roll portion to be used as the handle. The handle is thus formed by traction when used. Said technique provides for wider scale industrial manufacture than at present.

Why it's free to use
- Filed September 26, 1994. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended September 26, 2014.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by September 26, 2016.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
