Abstract From the Canadian patent

An improved glass mount antenna system (10) employs a pair of high dielectric constant high Q, low loss dielectric resonators (66 100) for TEO11 and TE111 resonance mode coupling to couple RF energy through the glass (12) to thereby provide an omni-directional communication antenna system (10) characterized by high radiation efficiency and low pattern distortion. The antenna assemblies (14 16), are especially well suited for high frequency communication operations for example at microwave bands of between about 1.5 GHz to 2.4 GHz, currently contemplated for PCN/PCS communications.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed September 28, 1994 and granted January 5, 1999. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended September 28, 2014.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by September 28, 2016.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
