The invention provides a method and apparatus for the rotary draw bending of pipe and tube having means to apply an axial boost force to the trailing end of the tube during the bending operation which force assists in controlling the flow of tube material into the bend. The apparatus has means to monitor the amount of material being used during each bending operation and means to control the amount of boost applied to the tube whereby the bending operation can be controlled to better achieve desired elongation characteristics. Bent tubes to a consistent standard and quality are obtained.

Why it's free to use
- Filed November 18, 1994 and granted January 19, 1999. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended November 18, 2014.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 18, 2016.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
