A gas to be processed containing H2S is subjected to a step in which the hydrogen sulphide is catalytically oxidised (1a) into sulphur at a temperature of 60-180 DEG C so that a sulphur deposit is formed on the catalyst and the sulfur-loaded catalyst (1b) is periodically regenerated at 60-180 DEG C then cooled to enable it to be reused in the catalytic oxidation step.

Why it's free to use
- Filed March 16, 1994. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended March 16, 2014.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 16, 2016.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
