Abstract From the Canadian patent

A rolling ring comprising a base and a wear ring the base, consisting of a material having a higher heat expansion coefficient and a lower wear resistance than the material of the wear ring. A method of construction of such rolling ring wherein the wear ring is placed over the base and solder is applied between them. The assembly is heated causing the base to expand to a greater extent than the wear ring and producing distribution of the solder through the area of the solder joint. Upon cooling of the assembly the greater radial shrinkage of the base produces inwardly directed forces which are transmitted by way of the soldering joint to the wear ring.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed November 15, 1994. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended November 15, 2014.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 15, 2016.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
