Abstract From the Canadian patent

Abstract of the Invention, to be changed A nozzle expels liquid CO2 through an orifice therein for converting the liquid into CO2 snow. The nozzle is contained within an elongated cavity within a body which in turn is coupled to an exhaust nozzle for directing the CO2 snow toward the workpiece. A mixing device is provided for receiving pressurized shop air at ambient temperature with liquid nitrogen for precooling the shop air and then directing the resulting mixture of gases into the cavity in an area adjacent to the nozzle. In this manner, the precooled shop air will enhance the efficiency of the conversion of the liquid CO2 into CO2 particles.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed October 28, 1994. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended October 28, 2014.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 28, 2016.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
