Abstract From the Canadian patent

A method and apparatus for mixing solid and liquid components of a slurry which have settled in a storage tank (10) suspending the solids in a substantially homogeneous slurry mixture are practied by directed flow apparatus. A plurality of jet nozzles (24) or propeller mixers (l04) is located in the storage tank within an annular band ranging between 25 percent and 75 percent of the radial length from a center of the tank to a tank wall. They are directed either in a tangent direction or at an angle away from the center of the tank to provide a substantially volume-filling mixing flow to suspend the solid slurry component in the liquid slurry component.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed May 5, 1993 and granted January 22, 2002. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended May 5, 2013.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 5, 2015.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
