Abstract From the Canadian patent

A construction for an invisible seam air bag deployment door installation in which foam layer wells extend along the hinging side of each door panel to freely allow hinging movement of the door panels by ready compression of the foam in the foam wells preventing outward extension of the doors during opening under low temperature conditions. The compression of the foam in the wells also prevents fragmentation of the skin and foam.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed October 3, 1994. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended October 3, 2014.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 3, 2016.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
