Abstract From the Canadian patent

A simulcast transmission system (100) utilizes adaptive demodulation to provide an apparatus for automatic delay equalization measurements. The simulcast transmission system (100) comprises a control station (101), and a plurality of remote stations (201 301), capable of re-transmitting a received delay equalization measurement signal which includes at least a correction bit pattern signal followed by a synchronization pattern signal. A receiver (151, 191) receives the re-transmitted delay equalization measurement signal, correlates the received signal to obtain a coarse time of reception and, analyzes the received correction bit pattern signal to derive a fine reception time correction …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed January 18, 1994 and granted September 21, 1999. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended January 18, 2014.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by January 18, 2016.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
