Abstract From the Canadian patent

When the bulb in the Head Lamp or Indicator Light or any other important or indispensable light (such as Reversing Light Number Plate Illuminating Light, Fog Light etc.) in an automobile is burnt out (or fused or broken down or rendered inoperative for whatever reason) suddenly and without prior warning it may take some time, even some days, before the light can be repaired and fixed. In the meantime, it is not only inconvenient or difficult to drive the automobile but also unsafe and dangerous. The present invention offers an alternative to avoid such unsafe or dangerous condition.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed September 6, 1994. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended September 6, 2014.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by September 6, 2016.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
