This invention relates to novel biologically active molecules, which bind to and inhibit the thrombin receptor. The molecules of this invention are characterized by a portion which binds to the "hirudin-like" domain of the thrombin receptor (amino acids 52-69). These thrombin receptor antagonists are further characterized by their ability to inhibit thrombin-induced platelet aggregation without affecting the catalytic activity of thrombin. More specifically, the thrombin receptor antagonist of this invention comprises the formula: Y-A1-W-X1-X2-X3-X4-A2-Z; wherein Y is hydrogen, a peptide of from 1 to 10 amino acids either the, same or different, or an acyl or alkyl chain comprising from 1 …

Why it's free to use
- Filed March 2, 1993. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended March 2, 2013.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 2, 2015.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
