Abstract From the Canadian patent

A frame for a skate has a base on which a shoe can be, associated, and two wings for supporting two or more pivots for the wheels. A protective plate is slidingly and selectively associated with the two wings of the frame and can be interposed between two adjacent wheels. It is thus possible to provide optimum protection of the frame against impacts during sports practice. (Ref. Fig. 1)

Why it's free to use

  • Filed July 20, 1994. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended July 20, 2014.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by July 20, 2016.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
