A method is provided for prefitting a stiffened member to a curved body having a geometry approximatable by a cone. Two points are initially selected on the surface of the body which also lie on two different planes passing through the body such that the intersection, of the surface and the planes defines two closed curves. A cone is approximated based on parameters relating to the curves and the selected points. A three-dimensional pattern of a stiffened member is then superimposed onto the conical surface at a modelling position corresponding to the desired placement position of the member on the body. The geometry and dimensions of the pattern are mathematically specified relative to the …

Why it's free to use
- Filed June 28, 1994. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended June 28, 2014.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by June 28, 2016.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
