Abstract From the Canadian patent

To avoid a reduction of the conductivity in iontophoresis due to the electrical decomposition and the changes in chemical properties of the electrodes themselves, covering by an electrical insulator and to, prevent a drop in the transport rate due to ions freed from the electrode. Provision is made of an electrode structure provided integrally with a reversible electrode and an auxiliary electrode for regeneration of the same and a regeneration current conducting means for conducting a current fox regeneration of the reversible electrode when the therapeutic current is off, or the invention is comprised of a reversible electrode and an ion exchange membrane difficult for ions freed from …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed June 22, 1994 and granted May 29, 2001. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended June 22, 2014.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by June 22, 2016.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
