Catalysts for reforming typically contain platinum supported on a high surface area alumina. During reforming reactions specifi-, cally dehydrocyclization, such catalysts produce undesirable light gases. Applicants have found a new catalyst that suppresses undesirable hydrogenolysis reactions thereby decreasing the yields of undesirable light gas make during dehydrocyclization of C6+ hydrocarbons especially n-heptane. The catalyst comprises a halogen and catalyti-, cally active amounts of nonalloyed noble metal and zinc on an alumina support wherein said noble metal is selected from the group consisting essentially of Pt, Pd, Ir, Os, Ru, Rh, Re and mixtures thereof and in, the absence of …

Why it's free to use
- Filed June 16, 1994. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended June 16, 2014.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by June 16, 2016.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
