Abstract From the Canadian patent

Matrices for electrokinetic and chromatographic separations based on a unique , class of mono- and disubstituted (on the amido nitroagen) acrylamides (e.g. acrylamido-N-ethoxy ethanol acrylamido-N, N-di-ethoxy ethanol) offer the following advantages: a) strong resistance to alkaline hydrolysis (most zone separations occurring at basic pH values); b) a high hydrophilicity and c) greater porosity, due to the larger M r value of the monomers. Such matrices can be prepared as 'chemically crosslinked' gels or as 'physical gels', the latter consisting of'strings' of monofunctional monomer in the absence of cross-linker at concentrations above the entanglement threshold. It is moreover possible …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed August 5, 1992 and granted December 30, 2003. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended August 5, 2012.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by August 5, 2014.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
