An improved check valve assembly (36) of the type having a relatively flexible disc member (46) retained between relatively rigid inflow and outflow housing portions (38 42). The inflow and outflow housing portions are removably threadably interengaged to permit serviceability of the ckeck valve and the relatively flexible disc member (46) has a generally perpendicular stem (48) extending into the bore (40) of one of the housing portions (38) to avoid misalignment of the disc with the housing. A tongue and groove means (68, 70) circumferentially seals the housing portions together by deforming to a common taper angle between the tongue and groove to provide sealing therebetween.

Why it's free to use
- Filed May 26, 1993 and granted March 9, 1999. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended May 26, 2013.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 26, 2015.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
