A gravity conveyor system is disclosed including means for actively stopping the rotation of the conveyor rollers following disengagement with a conveyed article after it passes thereover and in advance of a next succeeding article. This allows each article to accelerate an engaged roller from a rest position so that precise transport control is effected without the use of positive drive mechanisms. Why it's free to use

  • Filed May 20, 1994 and granted February 10, 1998. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended May 20, 2014.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 20, 2016.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
