Abstract From the Canadian patent

The present invention provides a water-resistant surface coating formulation comprising a reaction product obtained by subjecting an acrylamide polymer to a crosslinking reaction with 0.1 to 20 parts by mole per, 100 parts by mole of amido groups in the acrylamide polymer, of a glyoxalmonoureine; a method for improving the water resistance of paper by using the formulation; and coated paper so obtained. As a result of improved water resistance of the coating formulation this in-, vention makes it possible to conduct coating work stably.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed May 20, 1994. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended May 20, 2014.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 20, 2016.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
