Abstract From the Canadian patent

An automatic screw driving gun has a belt feeder mechanism for advancing a screw supply belt through a feeder housing in response to the rotation of a screw drive shaft or blade. The belt feeder mechanism has a feeder lever coupled to the rotating screw drive blade through a coupling device including a rocker lever and a toggle lever for a stepwise advance of the belt through the feeder housing perpendicularly to the screw drive shaft. A cam driven by the screw drive shaft advances the feeder lever with each blade rotation whereby the power of the drive motor is used for the belt advance thereby relieving the operator.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed May 4, 1994. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended May 4, 2014.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 4, 2016.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
