A bar screen system comprising twa sets of interleaved bars. In each sat, the height of the individual bars is staggered so every third is higher than the other bars, which are the same height. The bars one driven such that the, bars in one set are approximately 180° behind the other set in their respective, predetermined paths of movement resulting in a tipping and agitation action which, tends to present the wood chips loaded at a high rate onto the bar screen in their, thickness dimension to the slots between adjacent bars.

Why it's free to use
- Filed April 22, 1994 and granted January 30, 2001. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended April 22, 2014.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by April 22, 2016.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
