Abstract From the Canadian patent

One or more sieves (31,32) are fastened to a downstream end of a riddle (26) of a harvester (10) (or the riddle sieve (26) is extended rearwardly) and extend over a trough (12), the walls of which deflect air flow (37) above the sieves so that heavier and smaller weed seeds fall through the sieves and into the trough (12), while lighter particles such as chaff remain airborne to be discharged in a conventional way. The seeds in the trough (12) are removed by an auger (14).

Why it's free to use

  • Filed March 29, 1994. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended March 29, 2014.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 29, 2016.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
