Abstract From the Canadian patent

Disclosed herein is a Tee nut which can form a hole in an object of fixation with no problem by driving of the Tee nut itself, without previously forming a hole in the object of fixation. A closure member is engaged in a hollow shaft portion, to divide a portion to be caulked from a female screw forming portion. A punched-out portion resulting from a hole which is formed by driving of a Tee nut itself is prevented by the closure member from reaching the female screw forming portion so that, the punched-out portion can be discharged at the same time by extruding the closure member.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed March 10, 1994 and granted September 22, 1998. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended March 10, 2014.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 10, 2016.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
