Abstract From the Canadian patent

A distinctive apparatus and method for applying an elastic strand onto a moving substrate along a selected curvilinear path includes a transporting mechanism for moving the substrate along a selected substrate path and a supplying mechanism for supplying the elastic strand along a selected elastic path. An oscillating mechanism selectively changes a positioning of the elastic strand and includes a slidably movable guide which moves in a direction essentially transverse to said substrate path. The elastic strand slidably travels along the guide which positions the elastic strand such that the elastic strand is selectively applied to the substrate along the curvilinear path. A bonding …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed October 20, 1994. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended October 20, 2014.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 20, 2016.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
