A method for making a glass preform substantially free of OH impurities is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of introducing a moving stream of a vapor mixture including at least one compound glass-forming precursor together with anoxidizing medium into a tube while generating a hydrogen-free isothermal plasma on an outer surface of the tube to react the mixture and produce a glassy deposit on an inner surface of the tube.

Why it's free to use
- Filed October 18, 1994. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended October 18, 2014.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 18, 2016.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
